Understand Plan & usage

Check app, seat, and monthly analysis allowances and recover from a limit without deleting evidence.

Owners and adminsCan use available checkout, portal, and billing recovery controls.

Step by step

  1. Choose a plan

Free, Team, and Studio are available in production workspaces. Owners and admins can choose Team or Studio during setup or from Plan & usage. Review the package, monthly or annual billing, and final total in Polar’s hosted checkout before paying.

  2. Review app and seat capacity

Plan & usage shows server-measured counts and enforcement status. Active apps consume app capacity. Current members and outstanding unexpired invitations reserve seats. Archive an unused app or revoke an unused invitation to recover capacity without deleting release evidence.

  3. Understand the analysis window

Release usage is measured by UTC calendar month. Once the first excess release is three days old, further AI analysis is paused in enforced workspaces. Delivery and release evidence continue to be accepted.

  4. Recover billing state

An unfinished checkout can be resumed in its original package and cadence. Only provider-verified subscription state changes access. Use Check payment status if confirmation is delayed, and Manage billing for an existing subscription. Check the current result before starting another payment.

Check your setup

  • The selected workspace and package are correct.
  • Usage and enforcement labels match the server state.
  • A capacity error links to Plan & usage and preserves existing evidence.

Troubleshooting

Paid access changes after a payment problem

Known paid access has a seven-day payment/renewal-confirmation grace where applicable. Scheduled cancellation keeps access until its paid period ends; terminal canceled or unpaid state does not get that same grace. Ask an owner/admin to inspect billing status.

Cannot upgrade

Only a workspace owner or admin can start checkout. If a subscription already exists, use Manage billing. Resume an unfinished checkout or check its status before trying again. If billing cannot load, use Refresh and contact support if the error continues.

Credential safety

Payment entry happens on Polar’s hosted checkout, not inside documentation. Never share a private checkout or portal URL.
