Connect GitHub
Authorize repository access and attach source context to an app.
Before you start
- Access to the repositories you want to connect.
- Owner or admin access in Specita.
Set up the connection
Connect from Integrations
Choose Connect GitHub and authorize Specita on GitHub. Signing in with GitHub does not automatically connect repositories to a workspace.
Review organization approval
If your organization restricts OAuth applications or requires SSO, an organization administrator may need to approve the application or authorize access.
Attach a repository
Choose the correct repository and product. Check the repository’s full owner/name before attaching it.
Supply version identity
Use real commit SHAs on release or deployment records so source comparisons can join the correct versions.
Check your setup
- The intended repository is visible.
- Its mapping belongs to the intended app.
- A comparison shows the correct baseline and target commits.
Troubleshooting
Repository is missing
Confirm access on GitHub, OAuth organization approval, and any SSO authorization. Refresh the repository list after approval.
Authorization fails or keeps returning
Retry from Integrations in the same browser. If the callback still fails, report the visible error without sharing authorization codes or tokens.
Credential safety
No customer client secret is needed. Review the broad repo permission before authorizing; disconnect in Specita and revoke the OAuth application on GitHub when access is no longer wanted.
